ARCANA MENTIS DEUM (The Arcane Mind Of God)
The title alludes to the metaphysical nature of the artwork which seeks to explore the relationship of a fundamental dichotomy.
Science and Mysticism, each the antithesis of the other are embraced by man in his attempts to understand his place in the scheme of things.
This is why the artwork reflects this by combining Hubble space telescope imagery with the mystical symbols of antiquity.
If there is such a thing as the Mind of God then both these things strive to understand it, each in their own way,
but whether there is a God or merely an infinitely complex universe, neither science or mysticism can claim to understand its inner workings.
It may well be that this 'Mind of God' is truly Arcane and thus forever beyond the grasp of our comprehension.
This however shall not stop us trying because for us it will always be about the journey and never the destination.

Somehow we are all there, all travelling, all seeking a truth, forever just beyond our grasp or a whole universe away. Gom NI
ARCANA MENTIS DEUM was born of an epiphany, a realisation that we have lost a once important aspect of our lives and living rooms - The Album Cover.
Once a unique source of art and inspiration, it has been phased out and never replaced. Arcana Mentis Deum seeks to redress this tragedy by
showing once more that art and music can and should co-exist together.
Drawing its inspiration from the great 'concept albums' of the past it was conceived and actualised as both music and visual art,
the center of which is the album cover itself, elevated to status of sculpture and presented as a conceptual art installation.
Music and art coming together to produce something greater than sum of its parts.
The point is that modern music, whilst stored digitally, can nevertheless be packaged with a physical object pleasing to the eye and to the touch -
an object that brings greater meaning to the musical journey and informs the audience with sight as well as sound.
